The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Deputy Executive Secretary, Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, addresses delegates during the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the CCDA. The Conference was held from 8-10 October 2014 in Marrakech, Morocco, under the theme: 'Africa can feed Africa'. Dr. Hamdok expressed optimism that Africa has immeasurable ability to translate knowledge into action and that the Conference’s resolutions ought to be implemented.

Speaking at the conference, a representative of the youth reiterated how vital it is to make agriculture more attractive to the youth.  She observed that more often than not, the youth seldom engage in agricultural activities, yet agriculture remains the mainstay of several countries across Africa.
